The ballroom is gone. The music has faded. Beyond midnight, an entire world is waiting.
BEYOND MIDNIGHT is the second and final volume of THE WALPURGIS MASQUERADE, expanding the story far beyond the imperial halls of Moscow and into the strange supernatural world surrounding the Brocken.
Natasha leaves the masquerade behind and enters a landscape where the ordinary rules of nature, time, and memory no longer apply.
Her journey takes her through forests illuminated by impossible lanterns, secret witches' markets, walking houses, rivers flowing uphill, submerged villages, colossal creatures, supernatural inns, vertical mountain cities, flying regattas, ancient libraries, magical machines, and forgotten places hidden between dreams and reality.
But this is not simply a journey through a world of witches.
The deeper Natasha travels, the stranger the Brocken becomes.
The moon itself appears to be connected to an ancient mechanism. Memories can exist inside books and flowers. Dreams can become architecture. Letters can arrive a century too late. Entire cities can exist inside bells.
And eventually Natasha discovers something far more personal.
She was not the first woman to walk this road.
Fragments scattered throughout the mountain reveal that other women have entered the Walpurgis Masquerade before her, carrying the same mysterious key and following the same impossible path.
The question is no longer simply how Natasha can escape the supernatural world.
She must decide whether she will repeat its story — or finally change it.
Visually, BEYOND MIDNIGHT dramatically expands the scale and variety of the first volume. Imperial interiors give way to vast landscapes, unusual settlements, folkloric characters, surreal architecture, magical transportation, strange creatures, imaginative objects, and large-scale environmental storytelling.
The entire collection retains the distinctive Dark Romantic Oil Painting and Theatrical Storybook Illustration aesthetic of the series, combining expressive brushwork, richly layered textures, nineteenth-century visual influences, German Romantic landscapes, Slavic folklore, and surreal dark fantasy.
Designed as inspiration and reference for concept artists, environment artists, illustrators, character and creature designers, game developers, filmmakers, world-builders, and visual storytellers.
Together, the two volumes form one complete journey:
The first volume opens the door.
The second reveals what was waiting beyond it.
And when dawn finally reaches the Brocken, Natasha discovers that surviving the masquerade was never about escaping the strange world.
It was about learning how to leave it on her own terms.
